Our Good Buddies, all wearing something green, celebrated St. Patrick's Day in a happy play-filled way mingled with the learning of new words and joyous activities! We sang Irish songs, recited Leprechaun rhymes and fingerplays, acted out Leprechaun "tricks", learned to dance a jig, listened to tales of Leprechauns, fairies and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. We learned that this all started in a country called Ireland which we found on the map. We
decorated our art areas and walls with shamrock hats and colorful Leprechauns.
Thanks to Miss Kat, our "Leprechaun Luncheon" was a big hit! We spread green
frosting on graham crackers, participated in races and the building of Leprechaun
traps. Sorry, none were caught, but then "that's the luck of the Irish"!
